March 24: The Courier-Post featured Lourdes cardiologist Dr. Steven Kernis and his patient in an article highlighting the new, minimally invasive heart procedure being performed at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center known as transcatheter aortic valve replacement - or TAVR.

TAVR is for patients with severe, symptomatic aortic valve stenosis who are inoperable or at high risk to undergo open-heart surgery.

Lourdes is only one of two southern New Jersey hospitals performing the procedure.
